This Privacy Policy explains how MeTrition ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the MeTrition iOS application (the "App"). We built MeTrition with a privacy-first, local-storage approach to ensure you have full control over your health data.

1. Information We Collect and How We Store It
A. Health and Fitness Data (Apple HealthKit)
MeTrition requests your permission to read and write data to Apple’s Health app (HealthKit).

What we access: Dietary energy consumed, active energy burned, and basal energy burned.

How it is used: To display your daily calorie intake, calculate your dynamic calorie goals, and log the dishes you eat.

How it is stored: Health data is read directly from and written directly to your device’s HealthKit database. We do not transmit, store, or cache your HealthKit data on our servers.

B. Local User Data
Data that you create within the App—such as your user profile (name, photo), custom ingredients, and custom dishes—is stored entirely locally on your device using SwiftData (an Apple local database). We do not collect or upload this data to our servers.

C. Remote Data (Restaurants & Pre-defined Dishes)
The App fetches generic information (e.g., predefined ingredients, dishes, and restaurant menus) from our servers. This connection does not transmit any personally identifiable information. Standard network request logs (like IP address and User-Agent) may be temporarily processed by our servers to return this data, but they are not linked to your personal profile or health data.

2. Analytics and Third-Party Integrations
No Custom Analytics or Tracking: We do not collect, store, or share any custom analytics, usage data, or telemetry ourselves. MeTrition does not embed any third-party analytics SDKs, crash reporters, or advertising trackers.

Apple-Provided Analytics: Apple may provide us with standard, aggregated, and anonymized app performance metrics (such as crash reports or download counts) if you have explicitly opted into sharing this data with developers via your iOS device settings. We strictly do not share any of this Apple-provided analytics data with any third parties under any circumstances.

Maps Deep Linking: If you choose to view a restaurant in Apple Maps or Google Maps, the App simply opens the respective app using a URL scheme with the restaurant's address. No personal data is shared.

3. Apple HealthKit Specific Privacy Terms
Because MeTrition integrates with Apple HealthKit, we adhere to the following strict guidelines:

We will not use or disclose HealthKit data to third parties for advertising, marketing, or other use-based data mining purposes.

We will not share or sell your HealthKit data.

You retain full control over your Health data at all times. You can modify or revoke MeTrition’s access to HealthKit at any time via the Apple Health app settings.

4. Data Retention and Deletion
Because your personal and custom data is stored locally on your device or within HealthKit, you are entirely in control of its retention. You can delete your custom dishes or profile within the App, and you can delete all local MeTrition data by uninstalling the App. To delete health entries logged by MeTrition, you must manage them within the Apple Health app.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you within the App or update the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy.
